View templates and crops
Save a view's settings as a template that other views follow, and crop a plan into dependent views.
You will make a template from the ground floor plan at 1:50, see a new plan take it, and split the ground floor plan into two dependent views.
01A template from this view
Set the plan to 1:50 from the scale on its strip. Then, with nothing selected, open Properties and click A template from this view. Name it (GA plan 1:50), keep the fields it should carry ticked (scale, detail level, visibility and graphics, filters, view range, phase, tags, kind of plan, underlay, dimensions), tick Default for new views of this kind and click Save and link.
The view is now linked: those fields are the template's, and a change to one of them here changes the template and every view linked to it. Unlink frees the view again.
02A new view takes it
Click the + of the tabs, type A-102 (the number of the Level 1 plan) and press Enter. The plan opens with the template: at 1:50, with the template's graphics, and its Scale row is greyed, as the template sets it.
03Crop a plan into dependent views
A plan too large for one sheet is split into parts. In the ground floor plan's settings, choose Dependent views, 2 across: the plan is cut into two views that follow it, Ground - A and Ground - B, with an overlap and a matchline where they meet. Each part is a plan of its own, cropped, and Properties give the size of its crop.
Detail, in the Annotate toolset, crops a part of a plan the same way: two corners round the part to show larger open it as a plan of its own, at a larger scale, and its numbered mark stays on the plan. In a cropped view's settings, Crop shape turns the frame from a Rectangle into Any shape.
Scope box, in the same settings, makes a box from what the plan shows (New), so that other plans can follow the same frame.
