Learn Calq: a building from A to Z / Part 9 Drawings and sheets
Drafting views and details
Have Calq draw every detail the model calls for, open one, and mark it up with the drafting view's own tools.
You will make the sample house's details in one press, open the window head and draw a revision cloud on it.
01Make every detail
Press + beside the view tabs to open the views finder, and choose Make every detail from the model, under Drafting Views. Calq draws every build-up and every junction the model calls for: the walls, the floor and the roof in section, the wall base, the floor and roof edges, the heads, sills, jambs and threshold, and the stair nosing. Each detail leaves its numbered mark on the plan.
An element with no type is drawn as the nearest standard build-up and its title says (assumed).
02Open a detail
Open A-559 from the views finder (type its number): the window head in the cavity wall, at 1:5. Each layer is named on its leader (brick, mineral wool, block, plasterboard), the cavity tray, the lintels and the frame are drawn, and the layers are dimensioned.
03Draw on it
A drafting view has its own toolbar: lines, polylines, regions, rectangles, circles and arcs, text, notes and dimensions, references, clouds and components, and the pen and line type of what you draw. Choose Cloud and drag across the lintels: a revision cloud marks them.
DXF on the same toolbar brings a drawing in, and SVG writes the view out.
04Every drafting view
Type Drafting Views in the views finder: the details made are listed under their numbers, beside A new drafting view (lines, shapes, fills and text at a scale of their own) and Make every detail from the model. Placed on a sheet, a drafting view is drawn at its own scale.
