Learn Calq: a building from A to Z / Part 9 Drawings and sheets
Schedules, live
Open a schedule of the model, change an element from its row, and add the field you need.
You will open the sample house's door schedule, change the type of a door from its cell, and add the storey of each door as a column.
01Open a schedule
Open the views finder (+ beside the tabs) and type A-726: the Door schedule opens as a view of its own. Each row is a door of the model, read live: its mark, its type, its width and height and its Uniclass code.
Legends and Schedules in the views finder list the others: walls, floors, roofs, stairs, rooms, windows, openings, furniture, landscape, types and the material takeoff.
02Change a cell
Double-click the Type cell of D101: its list opens, the model's own types first, then the catalogue's. Choose another type, here Shaker 2-panel 826: the door in the model changes, and every plan, elevation and sheet follows. Ctrl + Z takes it back.
A value typed or pasted into a schedule goes to the element; a cell that cannot take it says why.
03Add a field
Open the strip's settings and choose Design the schedule. Its Columns tab lists the fields In the schedule, to reorder, hide or take out, and Add a field: what the elements hold, and what Calq measures (the model check, the information need, cost and carbon). Add Level: each door's storey becomes a column.
New parameter adds a column of your own, typed into each row and kept on the element; Calculated field writes a formula of the other fields.
04Rows, style and charts
The other tabs of the same panel filter, sort and group the rows (Rows), set how the schedule is drawn (Style), chart it (Charts), and renumber, compare or raise issues (Tools). The settings of the strip also place the schedule on a sheet, write it as SVG, and save it as Excel and read it back.
