Move around a view

Zoom with the wheel, pan with the middle button, orbit in 3D with Shift and the middle button, and fit the view back.

You will zoom and pan in a plan, orbit the model in 3D and bring each view back to its whole with Fit and Home.

Calq's mouse works as in the drafting tools you may know: the wheel zooms, the middle button pans, the left button is the tools' and the right button opens the menu of what is under the cursor.

01Zoom with the wheel

Roll the wheel over the plan: it zooms in and out round the cursor, so point at what you want to look at first. Then click Fit on the view strip: the whole drawing comes back into the view.

Zooming never changes the drawing's scale. The scale is the view's (1:100, 1:50 and so on) and sets the size of the lettering and the marks; the zoom is only how close you look.

Zooming in and out of the plan with the wheel, then Fit.

02Pan with the middle button

Press the middle button (the wheel) and drag: the drawing follows your hand. A double-click with the middle button fits the view, like Fit.

Panning the plan with a middle-button drag.

03Orbit in 3D

Click 3D on the view strip. Hold Shift (or Ctrl), press the middle button and drag: the model turns round. Without Shift, the middle button pans here too.

The cube at the top right of a 3D view turns the camera to a face or a corner when you click it. The house button under it brings the model back from the south-east, from above, fitted to the view.

Orbiting the model with Shift and the middle button, then Home under the view cube.
