From a brief to a BIM model
Calq AI reads a written brief or a spreadsheet of rooms, draws massing options to choose from, then lays the rooms in the chosen mass as an editable BIM model.
- Beta
- On a paid plan
Beta: it works, and it is still being proven on real projects. Check what it makes.
What it does
You write what the building is, or bring a brief as a spreadsheet of rooms with their areas. Calq AI first sets the project up (the site, the storeys, the rules), then draws different massing options. You choose one, move it if you want, and only then does it lay the rooms, walls, doors and windows inside it.
Every room it lays is linked to its line of the brief and measured against it, so the brief stays tracked while you change the design. Every change Calq AI makes can be undone.
What you give it
- A few sentences, or a brief as CSV or Excel
- The site, or a drawn mass to keep to
- Your choice among the massing options
What you get
A model of ordinary BIM elements: storeys, walls with their types, doors, windows, rooms with their names and areas, and the checks against the brief. You edit it like any model, and it leaves as IFC and drawings.
Where it stops
This workflow is Beta. Calq AI makes a first design to work from, not one to issue: check the plans, the sizes and the code before you rely on them. It needs Calq AI, which is on the paid plans; the first building is free on the free account.
Questions
Can Calq create a model from a design brief?
Yes. Calq AI reads a brief, draws massing options, and lays the rooms in the one you choose as editable BIM elements. It is Beta.
Is the result editable?
Yes. It is an ordinary Calq model: every wall, door and room can be changed by hand or by asking.
