What Calq writes
Every Calq element maps to an IFC class with its PredefinedType, its type, its standard property and quantity sets and a Uniclass code, or a stated reason it is not exported. Each element keeps the same GlobalId from one export to the next, so a coordination tool sees the same object again.
Each IFC file Calq can write is checked against the official EXPRESS schema and read back by web-ifc before a release goes out.
- IFC4 Reference View (the default), IFC 4.3 and IFC2X3 Coordination View 2.0
- COBie 2.4 and gbXML 0.37 with second-level space boundaries
- BCF issues and IDS requirements
- DXF with ISO 13567-2 layer names
What Calq reads
An IFC (IFC4, IFC 4.3 or IFC2X3), a DXF or a DWG comes in as native elements you can edit. BCF issues and IDS requirements come in too.
Import is Beta: it is tested on Calq's own files and on samples, and still being proven on files from practice. Check what comes in.
Where it stops
An element Calq has no kind for comes in as a generic object. Calq is built to the open standards, not to one vendor's feature list: what a program reads from an IFC depends on that program.
Questions
Does Calq support IFC?
Yes. Calq exports IFC4 Reference View, IFC 4.3 and IFC2X3 on every plan, the free account included, and imports IFC as editable elements (Beta).
Can I take a Calq model into Revit or ArchiCAD?
Yes, as IFC. Both read IFC4 and IFC2X3.
