A storey of flats from the plan engine
Lay out a storey of flats in the browser: the plan engine gives three checked options with the core, the corridor and the mix of homes, as BIM elements you edit.

- Free account
What it does
You give the storey's outline, the mix of homes and the access. The plan engine lays the storey in three different options, each checked against the building code you set: the cores with their lobbies, the corridor, the homes on each side and the walk from every front door to its stair. You choose one and it is laid as walls, doors, windows and rooms.
A flat you draw yourself can be saved as a unit. Every copy of a unit follows it: change the unit and every copy changes.
What you give it
- The outline of the storey, drawn or from a mass
- The mix: studios, one, two and three bedroom homes
- The access: a corridor down the middle or along one side, a point block round one core, an open deck, or stair blocks
- The building code the homes are checked against
Where it stops
Scissor-stair cores and skip-stop sections are not in the engine yet. The options are a starting point to edit, not a design to issue unchecked.
Questions
Is the plan engine free?
Yes. The plan engine and units are on the free account.
Can I edit what the engine lays?
Yes. Everything it lays is ordinary walls, doors, windows and rooms.
