Workflows / BIM modelling in the browser
BIM modelling in the browser
Model a building in a browser tab: walls, floors, roofs, stairs, rooms, openings and the ground, with plans, sections, elevations and 3D from the one model.

What it is
Calq is a BIM modeller that runs in the browser with WebGL 2. There is nothing to install, and it works on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Open calq.live and draw: an account is asked for only when you save, and a free account keeps the models in the cloud.
Every element is a typed BIM object with its properties and its IFC class, not a line on a drawing. A wall has a type with its layers, a door sits in its wall, a room knows its area and its boundary.
What you model
- Walls with their types and layers, curtain walls, columns and beams
- Floors, roofs (flat, pitched, hipped and more), ceilings and stairs
- Doors and windows from a catalogue, placed in their walls
- Rooms, areas and zones, measured from their boundaries
- Storeys and grids, and the ground of the site
- Furniture and components from the library
The views
Plans, sections, elevations, 3D views, schedules and sheets are all drawn from the same model, so a change in one shows in every other. A view keeps its own scale, and zooming never changes it.
Where it stops
Calq needs a browser with WebGL 2 and a working graphics card. Structural analysis and MEP design are not in Calq: the model goes to those tools as IFC.
Questions
Is Calq free to use?
Modelling, the views and every export are on the free account. What each paid plan adds is on calq.live/pricing.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Calq runs in the browser. Only the Revit add-in, when it is released, will be installed.
Can I use Calq without an account?
Yes, to draw. Saving a model makes a free account, so the model is kept.
